Laurie's carries ARTIST SUPPLIES: Permalba Oils, Prima Acrylics, M. Graham Water colors, Royal Brushes, Canvas, Standard sized Frames, mediums the complete line of Deco Art Americana acrylics and mediums for different applications. And so much more! Retail Hours: Mon closed, Tues(10-5), Now open: Weds noon til 5, Thurs(10- 8:30), Friday(10-5) & Saturday (10 - 5) Sunday closed ( specialty classes run on closed days) Mastercard and Visa accepted for programs and gift certificates. Laurie was the 2007 October "Convention Artist" for the New England Traditions Decorative Artists convention in Providence, RI. Laurie was the 2004 & 2005 Past President of the Rhode Island chapter of decorative painting: www.littlerhodyrembrandts.com The Rhode Island Chapter is affiliated with the National Society of www.decorativepainters.org Laurie earned and received National TDA entitlement in 2005 (Teacher of Decorative Art) by having been judged on several requirements.
Laurie has been teaching painting for 27 years now to adults and children of all ages. Not only does Laurie teach painting, but pencil arts, Polymer Clay, sculpture, and casting are other instructional venues she shares with her students. 2007 was Laurie's first year of travel teaching and then in 2008 her travels brought her to Tampa, FL, Pennsylvania and RI trade shows as well as local Chapters.
Laurie's Art Learning Center Sponsors, Lisa Schipritt of RI, for Iris Folding Cards and for Ukranian Eggs with Wax and dyes. Mary Owens, of Upstate NY has taught 3 Pen and Ink seminars at Laurie's and will return once again in 2009 for a designing using photographs. Beth Wagner of Long Island, NY came twice in 2006 and March 2007 for a furniture workshop where students painted hampers and she returns in 2009 for Fabric painting. We have also had Lynne Andrews and Kim Hogue where their specialties are country folk art styles. Cheri Rol, Master Decorative Artist, taught Glass, Brass and Copper and Cheri returns in October 2009 to teach developing a color scheme.
Laurie's Art Learning Center is a High Tech Studio which uses a projection system on a screen for Live Painting demonstrations which makes every "seat" a perfect "seat". These seminars are always "a not to be missed events". You get soooooo much out of these seminars which are always full of learning information.

I welcome: Teresa (Terry) Baruffa a soon to be certified landscape/seascape Robert Warren instuctor (visit: www.robertwarrenartloft.com) Terry will run in August on Weds. evenings an oil techniques session for 4 weeks introducing rocks, trees etc. And beginning in November will be a regular Weds. Stone Menagerie Painting Day Create a cat, racoon and/or a skunk for your outside gardens. Material fee $3.00

Learn painting on material techniques using So-Soft Fabric paint. Student brings TWO prewashed pillowcases and cardboard to insert into the pillowcase. $5.00 Specialty Paint fee.
Friday, July 10th
Colored pencil Thistle and butterfly project. Learn multi-media using graphite and colored pencil techniques. Mi-Teintes paper and Matt included in the $6.00 material fee
Weds, July 15th
Design your own clay posts utilizing One Stroke Techniques using Outdoor Patio paints. Student BRINGS "new" clay pots sized 6" - 10" maximum. Also, paint bottle top beetles to stick in your planter. Specialty paint fee $5.00
Thurs, July 16th Pen and Ink- oil rouging day. Learn Ink and rouging techniques with a garden cart design. You will be able to fill your cart with your own ideas and learn how to design. Materials fee $6.00
Friday, July 17th OPEN PAINT DAY. You choose your subject and paint of choice. Canvas material fee $6.00
Weds, July 22nd Paint a horse in acrylic on a plaque utilizing One Stroke techniques. Material Fee: $4.00
Thurs, July 23rd Pen Clay Day. Learn clay techniques and create One-of-a-Kind pens. Materials fee $7.00
Friday, July 24th Paint your own Jeans or Shorts. They must have been pre-washed. Cotton or Cotton blend is best. $5.00 specialty paint will apply.
Weds, July 29th Painted Buffalo Skin on Ultra suede creating a story line in primitive art techniques utilizing fabric paint. Materials fee: $6.00
Thurs, July 30th Geranium pen/ink and watercolor scene emblellished witha "Window" matt. $6.00 Material fee. Not for beginners
Friday, July 31st Learn how to stencil by creating a one of a kind canvas creation embellished with word art. Material fee: $6.00
Weds, August 5th Paint your own Bangle Bracelets (or paint it for someone special) utilizing One Stroke techniques. Materials fee $6.00 includes two all wood bracelets
Thurs, August 6th Watercolor and hot wax techniques to create eitehr a fish or a floral on rice paper. Material fee $5.00
Friday, August 7th Paint a "Frog" on a real Leaf that you will mount and mat. Material fee $6.00
Home School Friday Morning 10 - Noon Kids Saturday Morning: 10:00 - 12:30 Saturday Afternoons starting in Jan. 2009
Regular weekly classes are a monthly committment. Students work at their own pace in the style and media of their choice. Personalized instruction and critiques are on an individual basis. Though all students learn from each others experiences and applications. Workshop classes are in a setting of everyone doing the same project.

Laurie's father brought two paintings of Red Sox players to Boston for the David Ortiz and Dwight Evans signing!!!! Ortiz was painted last year by Laurie's daughter, Audrie. And Evans was done by Laurie 17 years ago as gift to her brother. (just signed this year) Photos below are of them actually signing the original paintings.
